The Story
There are some things in life that are simply priceless. Family heirlooms are one such treasure that hold an immense emotional value and connection to our past. This 100 year old heirloom bangle was one such precious item that had been passed down through generations in the family. But, as with all things that stand the test of time, this bangle had seen better days. It had been repaired multiple times over the years by various jewellers. As a result, it was starting to show signs of wear and tear, with cracks appearing in several spots.
The above image is showing the restoration work done by the client’s previously engaged jeweller. Although it was functionally fixed, aesthetically, there needed to be more work done. As seen in the image, the broken sections were only soldered back together with minimal polishing done.
This resulted, in uneven surfaces on the bangle. When the client brought it in, she knew something doesn’t look right, but didn’t know what. We took time to understand & explain our jewellery restoration process in order to help them understand what should have been done to get it back to the original state.

Therefore, we decided to do it properly and ensure that the bangle was restored to its former glory.
The Process
We began the jewellery restore process by carefully cleaning the bangle to remove any dirt or debris. We then used a special technique to wrap the solder around the broken parts of the bangle, ensuring that it was securely attached. This technique also allowed us to smoothen out the surface, so that the bangle was not only fixed but also looked beautiful.
Once the bangle was fixed, we carefully inspected it to ensure that there were no visible cracks or rough spots. We also made sure that it was comfortable to wear and that it would not cause any discomfort to the client.
The result as seen in this image was that we did not only fixed the broken sections of the bangle, but through our detailed process, the surface is now a lot smoother and stronger.
This 100 year heirloom piece is now truly restored to its former glory and we’ve ensured that it’ll last a lot longer.
